Meet Local Artist, Sue Neufarth Howard

By Bob Winberry

An acrylic artist originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Ms. Howard relocated to Long Beach in 2016. Several of her paintings are on permanent display at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, and McCullough-Hyde Hospital in Oxford, Ohio. She studied painting at the Cincinnati Art Academy and received an Associate in Art degree at the University of Cincinnati. Sue has exhibited in juried and solo exhibitions in Cincinnati and a number of her paintings have been donated for charitable fundraising in Ohio.

Locally, Sue has exhibited in the Belmont Heights Artists’ Association events and art walks. Her work has also been exhibited in annual juried exhibitions at Greenly Art Space in Signal Hill. She has paintings in private collections and a solo exhibition of her work was held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Long Beach.

Sue continues to create new work. Her paintings on canvas depict landscape, animal life, and floral scenes as well as abstracts on paper. Her canvas work is inspired by photos of scenic areas, gardens, zoos, or forest/desert areas she or friends and family have visited. Most canvas paintings are 11” x 14” with some that are 16” x 20”, unframed.

See Sue’s work on her Facebook page. Prints of her art are available at ArtPal.com.
