Belmont Burger Liquor License
Belmont Burger on the corner of 4th and Ximeno has applied for a liquor license to serve beer and wine. The 4th and Ximeno Intersection Improvement Committee is currently polling neighborhood residents to get opinions and feedback to share with the city council. Do you think that a liquor license on the corner at Belmont Burger is appropriate? Please feel free to comment here:

I am not in favor of a liquor license for this establishment. It has always been a hang out for local kids and the liquor store across the street already has enough "alcohol activity".

Granting a liquor license to this fast food burger diner would be absolutely the WRONG thing to do.
Benson's Liquor already attracts a lot of questionable sorts at night, and our neighborhood needs help preventing further decline, not encouraging problems.
Providing more alcohol would harm the neighborhood, homeowners, and other businesses near Belmont Burger.
We do not want the problems they have west of Redondo to migrate here. If our Long Beach city officials are listening… please vote NO.

As an update: at least 22 residents, the majority of whom live within a couple of blocks of Belmont Burger, sent petitions to the City Council and ABC protesting the issuance of a license to this property. The Council supported the residents and also appealed the petition. However, the final decision rests with the ABC. It may be necessary for those interested in this issue to defend their petition at the ABC at some point in the future. We will keep you apprised on the status of this issue.
