FYI, at the last Joint Council meeting there was talk of a "Graffiti Day" sometime in September, with Justin Rudd organizing. Volunteers would use city-supplied paint to paint over graffiti on public buildings. If I find more info I will post it.

LBPD East Division to attend BHCA Meeting

The plan at the moment is to have somene form LBPD east Division or Neighborhood watch attend next weeks meeting. PSA Kym Cloughesy from East Division said she will be able to make it next Wednesday. She works with Community Policing/Directed Enforcement, and they deal with a lot of the chronic neighborhood problems. You may want to give her a heads-up on any specific incidents that might come up in case she wants to do a little research. She can be reached at 570-5808, or via email, kycloug@longbeach.gov. We live on Nieto and have had someone come into our backyard on two seperate
occassions taking a skateboard and bicycle. Both happened during the night.

Last Saturday, an acquaintance of ours who lives on Loma at the corner of 7th (southwest corner) left her purse on her porch while helping a neighbor move something out of her car. Her purse was stolen in that brief moment and she had to replace her locks because her keys were in the purse. Amy
