 <title>LNG at the Port of Long Beach</title>
 <link>http://MyBelmontHeights.org/node/233#comment-183</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;When they say LNG will &amp;quot;provide customers throughout the region&amp;quot; with alternative fuel they must mean the entire U.S. because there is nothing that requires that LNG stay local and it will probably be piped to wherever it can fetch the highest price (like in places where it snows).  So Long Beach residents bear the risk and pollution of a fuel destined for places outside of California.  How does that make sense?Furthermore the ships that will bring LNG (and maybe terrorists) into our harbor could run on any kind of fuel (including the most polluting) so whatever questionable benefits LNG powered cranes in the port might bring could easily be outweighed by the pollution coming from the massive ships bringing LNG to Long Beach.&lt;/p&gt;
